ABOUT SOPHIA CHITLIK
Sophia fights hard for the things she cares about.
Sophia is one of the only Dems to get a bill signed into law all of 2025.
Sophia is one of the only Democrats in the legislature to get anything signed into law all year (an amendment on childcare), and the only freshman to introduce multiple pieces of bipartisan legislation. She is the sponsor of over 100 bills that translate her Platform of Care into action, such as implementing paid leave and legalizing cannabis, and legislate innovative ideas like the creation of the nation’s first Childcare Finance Agency and the CARDINAL Corps service year program. Sophia is passionate about delivering excellent constituent services, personally responding to over 1,400 constituent emails in her first eleven months in office.
Sophia is and has always been a changemaker.
Sophia’s career began as an organizer on the Obama Campaign. She later went on to serve in the White House and in the Department of Labor as one of the youngest political appointees in the Obama Administration. After leaving Washington, Sophia worked for nonprofits as a Chief of Staff, rising to become a Chief Operating Officer of an eight-figure education innovation organization. Sophia has spent the past nine years as a strategic planning consultant, philanthropist, and investor, building cross-sector companies that scale community-driven solutions in education, maternal health, and social isolation.
Sophia graduated magna cum laude from New York University, where she made her own major in Political Community Building in America. When not putting her degree to work, Sophia can be found running after her son on his balance bike and trying to make it through Barack Obama’s annual booklist.
